May (Abigail Williams) House is built.

1870

(ca.) One of four contiguous houses built by George Wheatland Jr., it is located at 3 Exeter Street. Its first occupants are abolitionist Abigail Williams May and her mother, the widow of Rev. Samuel Joseph May. Abigail lives here until her death in 1888. Subsequent occupants include Dr. John Jeffries from 1889 to 1892. The building is converted to a two-family home in 1988.
